In January 2016 we launched a community outreach program to help elementary age students take home a weekend “PowerPak”. The “PowerPaks” are meant to help supplement food needs on the weekends when they are not in school. Every fall we seek sponsorship to help feed 150 students.
Turning Point Educational Center
This year we are excited to partner with the new Turning Point Educational Center. Turning Point is a local alternative school that works with students to become transformed, fulfilled and contributing members of society through faith-based education and caring relationships. As a church we recognize the importance of such a school in our community and for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.
Because we see this as a vital ministry we have individuals who serve as board members staff members and volunteers. We are involved in other ways as well through discipling, working with student on community projects, and providing food for different events. A highlight is when have individuals participate in a daily family time at the school where they share their personal testimonies and teach life lessons to the students.
Every spring we also collect recyclable material in the church parking lot from anyone who is willing to donate. All the monies collected goes towards helping wherever there are needs within the school. The money has helped fund a work trip that a number of students and church members participated in following a tornado in our state. We have also used the money to purchase winter coats, food, and even help several students take entrance examines for college.
We celebrate as we see the mission of Turning Point being fulfilled before us.
OutReach Ministries is focused on ministering to those within our church and within our community who need help doing projects around their homes that they are not able to do themselves. It is also a ministry that reaches out into the nursing homes and prisons and those who are not able to get out on their own. We want to be a church that ministries to both the spiritual and physical needs of individuals by fulfilling (Matthew 25).
Once a year, our community and local churches partner together in a weeklong cleanup and revitalization effort focused primarily on the downtown and surrounding residential areas in Ligonier.
Since its inception in 2007, over 2200 volunteers have taken part in this unique community project. Combined with an annual operating budget of just under $12,000.00, these volunteers have performed over $1.2 Million worth of work within the city of Ligonier.

NCI – New Community Initiatives
NCI was started several years ago as a partnership between local churches and local helping agencies. We meet the first Tuesday of each month to share upcoming events and to discuss how we can best serve our community by being united as the hands and feet of Christ.
